VALENTINE PARTY AT MIDLETON RFC!
Following on from the great night we had at our Christmas Party we’ve decided to do it all again for Valentine’s Weekend. Saturday, February 13th is the date for your diary!!! Enjoy a great night out and support our Flood Damage Repair Fund at the same time
MUNSTER A GAME MOVED FROM MIDLETON RFC 23.1.2016
Unfortunately the Munster A game supposed to be played in Midleton RFC has been moved to another venue to be confirmed by Munster Rugby. With the forecast for Thursday and Friday January 21st and 22nd, they were not confident our pitch would be playable. They were also not willing to risk waiting to see as it would be to late to move the match at that juncture.
We were extremely disappointed by this news as the match would’ve generated much needed revenue for the club in this hour of our greatest need. We worked so hard to get the clubhouse presentable for the pre-match lunch which was fully booked and we were overwhelmed by the number of people volunteering to help out on the day. Sadly it is all beyond our control so we look forward to our next Home AIL fixture which is versus Bruff RFC on January 30th.
MIDLETON RFC v NAVAN RFC 9.1.2016
The main pitch was lined today and it’s looking good for the weekend! We’d appreciate your support on Saturday more than ever when our Seniors take on Navan RFC in the AIL. The clubhouse and grounds are still a bit rough round the edges but the fighting spirit is strong! Kick off is 2.30pm.
Pre-match lunch is also going ahead €25 for 3 course meal with wine including match entry. Book on 021 4633808
DONATIONS TO THE FLOOD DAMAGE REPAIR FUND
We’re so grateful for all the offers of help we’ve received since the club was flooded. As the cleanup operation progresses we’ll be calling on you to lend a hand. Many others have offered to help financially with the cost of the flood damage so to make the process of handling donations easier we’ve set up a GoFundMe Page. All donations are gratefully accepted and will be put to good use repairing and replacing what was damaged and lost Please share the link below on your social media platforms.
FLOODING AT MIDLETON RFC
The town of Midleton has been severely flooded by Storm Frank and unfortunately our club has not escaped its wrath. The mini area, second pitch and main pitch are under water to varying degrees and while the clubhouse is sound thus far, it may not remain so for much longer. The water will eventually subside, the pitches will return to their former excellent condition and whatever other damages accrued will be repaired. The club may be a second home to many of us but it’s not a primary dwelling nor family home and as such we must find some perspective. So many friends and neighbours have lost much in the recent floods, our thoughts and prayers are with them.
Wishing our Seniors the very best of luck as they head to Duhallow for their return fixture with Kanturk RFC.
