Last Tuesday (24th) we held the official launch of the big fundraiser for the grounds development and floodlight project – “Who wants to be a Thousandaire?”.
At the launch of the event, attended by guest of honour, Cork County Mayor Noel O’Donovan, Andrew McCarthy (Club President) outlined the huge effect this project will have on the club “Once this project is complete how we approach training, across all levels, will be radically improved” he said. Andrew went on to say “our youth and mini sections are thriving with over 300 players at the club, improving our grounds is vital to our continued success and in being able to develop and grow our club”. Mayor O’Donovan commented on how Rugby has had a positive impact on his own family with his son playing the game as well. He went on to comment that Rugby, and the success of clubs like Midleton, are great for community development.
While at heart a fundraiser, this also promises to be a great night out with 8 chances to win up to €1,000, a raffle, spot prizes all rounded off with music all in a specially erected marquee – how could you not have fun?. Tickets are on sale now for €15 (or €50 for a book of 4) and are available from Jason (087 6442000), Paul (087 244 6664) or by emailing MidletonRFC@outlook.com.
